What should I pay attention to before enrolling in a badminton class?

• Applicants need to know the badminton level of the students in order to choose the suitable badminton class.
• Applicants can refer to the "Course Introduction" on the website to learn more about the structure of Xiang Yang's badminton classes.

In which season is it better to learn badminton?

• Nowadays, with the development of society, the number of indoor sports centers is greater than in the past, with excellent facilities, and badminton has become a sport suitable for all seasons, so it is not appropriate to designate a certain season for learning badminton.
• If you want to improve your badminton skills, continuous training is a must. Xiang Yang organizes badminton classes throughout the year so that students who wish to improve their badminton skills can have an opportunity for continuous training.

Will the club notify the successful applicants?

• For successful applicants, we will notify them by phone or WhatsApp 3 days before the badminton class starts.

Are badminton classes open to beginners only?

• Xiang Yang's Badminton Classes are suitable for beginners to those who have some badminton ability.
• Xiang Yang's badminton classes are divided into various categories, catering for adults from 4 years old to 17 years old or above, and teaching appropriate badminton skills according to the "curriculum framework".

Is it possible to enroll after the badminton class has started (i.e. drop-in)?

• Since the instructors teach the courses on a progressive basis, Xiang Yang suggests that those who wish to enroll should do so for the full course.
• Xiangyang will accept applications (drop-in) after the start of each course on a case-by-case basis, but the number of available places varies from course to course.
• If you choose to enroll after the start of the course, you are still required to pay the full course fee.

What should I be aware of after submitting my application?

• If enrollment is successful, students are not allowed to change classes unless the course is canceled or the instructor suggests a change of class according to the student's level during the first class.
• All fees paid are non-refundable unless the course is full or canceled.
• The student's place or fees paid will not be transferable to any other person.

Course Schedule

Is the teacher-student ratio the same in each badminton class?

• Xiangyang arranges different teacher-student ratios for each badminton class, with one instructor to four to six students, depending on factors such as the availability of booking venues.
• With more than years of badminton teaching experience, Xiang Yang understands the real needs of the students and strictly adheres to the stated teacher-student ratio to ensure that all badminton classes operate properly and provide the most suitable teaching arrangements.

Do students have a choice of coaches?

• Students are not allowed to designate instructors to teach the course, and XIANGYANG reserves the right to change the original instructor, class time and location of the course.

Are parents or guardians allowed to enter the venue or the parents' area (if any) to observe the class?

• If the venue has a parent observation area, parents may enter the parent observation area according to the guidelines and regulations of the individual venue.

Is it still necessary to enroll in the same badminton class after the student's badminton level has been improved?

• Instructors will teach the badminton skills according to the level of the "Badminton Skills Progression Chart" of the Association, even in the same badminton class, we can also upgrade the teaching content to match the level of the students.
• Instructors will also suggest students of similar level to switch to badminton classes in the same session to enhance the effectiveness of teaching.
• Coaches will also recommend students with potential to join the "Badminton Team Preparatory Course" or higher level courses to receive higher intensity training according to their badminton skills and physical abilities.

Leave of Absence and Class Cancellation Arrangement

Can I take leave of absence from badminton class and can I arrange for a make-up lesson after taking leave of absence?

• As the instructors are always on schedule, XIANGYANG does not encourage students to take time off to avoid disrupting the progress of the program.
• If the student has to take sick leave, the student must submit a valid medical certificate on the same day or within three days.
• According to the number of classes in the program, Xiang Yang will allow students to take leave to make up one class for every four classes, and so on.
• There will be no make-ups for the first class of each session of any badminton class.
• Please refer to the "Guidelines for Students" on the website for detailed arrangements of leave-taking and tuition.

Can a student make up a class if he/she is absent for personal or school activities (e.g., school trips, make-up classes, interviews or exams, etc.)?

• To avoid affecting the progress of students, we do not encourage students to take leave. If students need to apply for a leave of absence due to school activities, they must apply to the course assistant or coach 7 days in advance (Xiangyang office will not process any leave of absence requests), and the staff of Xiangyang will ask students to provide proof of the leave of absence if necessary. XIANGYANG will arrange a replacement class for the recognized leave of absence (for every 4 lessons of badminton class, students will be given one opportunity to take a leave of absence, and so on).
• Xiang Yang will not accept any excused absences. Absences from this class will be considered as "absences" and will not be made up.

Arrangements for Leave of Absence and Make-up Classes

• There will be no make-ups for the first session of any of the badminton classes.

Prerequisites for arranging tuition

(a) A student requesting sick leave must submit a medical certificate valid for that day or within three days.

(b) All requests for personal leave must be made to the Program Assistant or Instructor 7 days prior to class.

• Xiang YangThe student has the right not to process any request for leave of absence less than 7 days prior to the class, and the student will be considered absent from the class on that day without any arrangement for making up the class.

Replacement quota

• The number of make-up lessons is based on the total number of lessons in each badminton class. Every 4 lessons can be applied for leave and 1 make-up lesson can be arranged (e.g. 4 lessons in a badminton class can be applied for leave to make up for 1 lesson, or 8 lessons in a badminton class can be applied for leave to make up for 2 lessons, and so on).
• Xiang YangStudents can contact the course assistants or coaches at the venue for enquiries or arrangement of make-up lessons for suitable level of lessons. Students are required to complete the extra lesson in the same badminton class. If students cannot complete the extra lesson in the same badminton class, or if students cannot make up the lesson (for reasons such as not being able to arrange the time), XIANGYANG has the right to regard the student as giving up the theory of making up the lesson and will not arrange the extra lesson again.
• Students who are absent on the day of the make-up class will be considered as abstaining from the class.Xiang YangThere will not be any 2nd make-up session.
• All make-up arrangements cannot be changed once confirmed.
• All Badminton class leave requests must be arranged as a make-up class and cannot be processed as a refund.
• Any student who is unable to attend badminton class for a short period of time (usually 2 weeks or more) due to illness or physical injury (student must submit a medical certificate) may apply for a suspension within 1 week after the doctor's certificate is issued.

Badminton Class Clause

Enrollment and Admission Arrangement

• All enrolled students, new or old, must complete all information in the online enrollment form and complete the online transaction at the time of enrollment submission. If the information in the enrollment form is incomplete or the payment receipt does not meet the specifications, the enrollment will not be accepted.Xiang YangWe reserve the right not to process the application without prior notice. In the event that the application is unsuccessful as a result, theXiang YangI am not responsible for any of them.
• All enrollment fees must be paid before the badminton class starts.Xiang Yangentitled to be treated as a waiver of enrollment.Xiang YangWe also reserve the right to refuse to enroll a student who has not paid his/her fees in full.
• Xiang YangWe reserve the right to reject any application submitted after the commencement of a badminton class (i.e., drop-in application), such asXiang YangBy accepting this application, the student must also pay the full Badminton Class fee.
• All the participants of the last issue ofPre-school Preparation Classes", "Kindergarten Classes", "Children's Classes", "Youth Classes"(a) "Skills Improvement Class", "Badminton Team Preparation Class", "Adult Class", "Chapter Class" and "Elderly Class".Regular class participants are required to submit the application and pay the fee before the closing date of the application for old students. Due to the limited number of places in the badminton class.Xiang YangAdmission will be on a "first-come-first-served" basis, otherwiseXiang YangAll enrollments are treated as new student enrollments; and all new students are required to enroll before the new student deadline, and any student who submits an enrollment or pays a fee after the deadline, resulting in a delay in processing and an unsuccessful enrollment, shall be deemed to have enrolled in the program.Xiang YangI am not responsible for any of them.
• Xiang YangIndividual notification of the admission result of students enrolled in "Pre-Prep", "Nursery" and "Children" classes will be made 3 days prior to the commencement of each badminton class via WhatsApp; and students who have enrolled in "Junior", "Technical Improvement", "Adult", "Badminton Chapter" and "Badminton Squad Preparation" before the closing date of enrollment.Xiang YangWhatsApp notification will be sent 3 days prior to the start of the badminton class to notify the result of the enrollment.
• If a student is unsuccessful in enrolling in the "Preferred" Badminton Course.Xiang YangStudents will be contacted individually 3 days prior to the start of the "First Choice" badminton class to confirm the time of the "Second Choice" or "Third Choice" badminton class in order to schedule the class.
• If enrollment is unsuccessfulXiang YangThe fees paid will be processed according to the student's wish. If the student requests a refund, theXiang YangA check will be mailed to the address provided in the application within 3 working days after the start of the badminton class.
• If students do not meet the requirements of the badminton class (e.g. insufficient badminton skills), after the first lesson is confirmed by the instructor, the students will be allowed to join the badminton class.Xiang YangArrangements will be made for students to transfer to a suitable badminton class and students will be required to pay the difference in fees incurred. If the transfer results in overpayment of fees by the trainee, the trainee will be required to pay the difference in fees.Xiang YangThe course will be handled according to the student's wish. If the student is not satisfied with the transfer arrangement, he/she may request to withdraw from the class. The paid fee will be changed to the amount of the discount used (e.g., change from three consecutive enrollments to two enrollments) and the completed class fee will be deducted, and a cheque will be sent by mail to the student's address as stated on the enrollment form within 3 working days.
• In the event of special circumstancesXiang YangWe reserve the right to change the original coach, class time and location of the badminton class.

Appraisal arrangements

• All regular badminton classes with a total of less than 20 lessons will not be assessed.
• Please refer to the Badminton Class Regulations or the coach's arrangement for the assessment dates of individual summer badminton classes.
• Xiang Yang reserves the right to change the date of the assessment and students will be notified of the change of the assessment date arrangement.
• Any student who is absent from an assessment or takes leave on an assessment day.Xiang YangThere will be no make-up exams.
• Xiang YangA "Student Progress Form" will be distributed at the last lesson of the badminton class. Any student who is absent or absent on that day must collect the "Student Progress Form" from the venue within 6 months after the badminton class.
• If the test results are satisfactory.Xiang YangTrainees will be recommended to join "Xiang Yang Badminton Team" to receive systematic competitive training throughout the year.
